Photography Courses

Every Girl Scout deserves a chance to explore their creativity and learn a new skill to capture a lifetime of memories. The problem is most courses are very technical and confusing. At Vine Images, INC we create fun, engaging, kid friendly photography courses to meet all badge requirements that give you a great foundation to build upon. Being outside in nature is a great way to spark your creativity. Some of our greatest works of art are inspired by nature. From early on, cave people drew pictures of sunsets, the sky, animals and trees. Get ready to observe and collect things outdoors that will drive your art and creativity from colors and patterns to landscapes and wildlife. This course focuses on using natural light to become a nature or wildlife photographer. A nature photographer attempts to capture nature in all its beauty and a wildlife photographer will travel all over the world photographing exotic animals. You will learn how to use nature to enhance your photography skills, make a pin wheel to understand wind and motion photography and use a natural ingredient to dye something you can wear. This badge does require a few craft projects, please see the supply list needed to complete the course. After completion of this course, you will have earned your Outdoor Art Apprentice Badge.

Senior – Outdoor Art Expert

Get ready to become an outdoor artist as you connect with nature and create something helpful to the environment. You will learn how to see nature with an artist’s eye and find ways to express yourself from photography and painting, to music. Head outside and find art, it doesn’t just exist within the four walls of a museum.

Complete all steps for the Outdoor Art Expert badge through a self-paced virtual course. Explore murals in Gloucester, VA and sculptures on display by Jay Lagemann and learn techniques to capture one of a kind nature photography from a professional photographer. You will be inspired to design your own art mural and create a masterpiece from recycled material. This badge does require you to explore nearby art in your area and a few craft supplies of your choosing, a journal or sketch pad and a camera; phone or ipad will work great.

2022 Be Kind & Shine Bright Patch

The new year is a great time to start new habits and set goals for a better you. Unfortunately, as the year moves on we find ourselves less motivated or maybe procrastinating. Don’t worry, we have a plan that will keep you active and thinking all year! Join us as we come together to motivate, encourage and strive to be kind in 2022. Each month a new video lesson will be emailed to you, that’s 12 video lessons. Each lesson will include yoga and a short activity to promote kindness and keep you thinking about your bright future.

What to Expect:

Each month on the 15th, you will receive an email with video instruction to complete your lesson. Each lesson will be 30 -60 minutes and each month will be different to keep you active and motivated. To reward your success and year long dedication, you will receive the “Be Kind & Shine Bright” patch.

After a year of learning inside, it’s time to get outdoors! The new Math in Nature badges build on one another as Girl Scouts learn about shapes, numbers, and design in nature. You’ll plan a hiking adventure, create trail maps, and design a bird feeder—all while learning math concepts and how they apply outside the classroom. You will earn all three badges in this bundle package. Most of it is self-paced, but Vine Images is offering an introductory live Zoom that will focus on one craft project and a group discussion on nature.
