Nature is full of beautiful things. Look around. You can see them everywhere. You can find rainbows. You can see flowers. You can look for leaves. This badge is all about looking carefully at nature. You never know what you’ll find!

When you’ve earned this badge, you’ll know how to identify shapes and patterns in nature. You’ll also know how to create your own.

Numbers in Nature

How tall are you? How tall is a giraffe? How about a chipmunk? How can you know? Explore how to measure objects with this badge. Measuring lets you know the size or weight of something. You’ll measure different things. You’ll create your own way to measure nature, too!

When you’ve earned this badge, you’ll know about shadows, measurement, sorting, and estimating.

Design in Nature

Have you ever gone on a hike and wondered where the animals are? Have you ever wanted to go birdwatching?

You can listen to nature. You can look at nature. In this badge, you’ll explore nature. You’ll think about what you see. You’ll make and do things in nature.

When you’ve earned this badge, you’ll know how to use math to identify and sort things in nature. You’ll also know how to create a map.
